Bindi Shah

Administrator and Physical Therapist

Bindi Shah was born a first generation American in Virginia before moving to California, drawn to the warm climate. She earned her degree and licensing in physical therapy and has engaged in volunteer work globally.

While treating senior citizens in countries, like Mexico, Bindi realized a great need existed back in California for seniors to maintain (or regain) their mobility through effective physical therapy treatment. She decided to emphasize her training in geriatrics/orthopedics after receiving clarity about her life’s mission when visiting her grandfather in India on his 100th birthday.

Bindi was struck by the joy and positivity her grandfather experienced in the last part of his life. She knew she could play a major part in bringing the same contentment to the lives of California’s seniors.

Returning home, Bindi began planning for A1 Elder Care. To make her dream of creating a nurturing home for seniors come true, she turned to the business expertise and wisdom of her father, Jay Shah.

Jay Shah

Senior Partner and Advisor

Jay Shah has lived the American dream. He emigrated [1] to America from India with little to his name and built a great life based on the opportunities our country offers.

Jay earned multiple college degrees, including advanced ones in textile engineering and an MBA. Eventually, he formed a partnership with his brother which flourished into a successful subcontracting business. Despite being a busy executive, he always put major emphasis on the role of family in his life.

Happily married for 50 years, Jay has two children and six grandchildren (whom he spoils). He leads an active life, which includes playing tennis, biking, and working out. He leapt at the chance to support Bindi’s mission with A1 Elder Care because he viewed it as a chance to further bond with his daughter.

Jay is no stranger to going into business with family, but A1 Elder Care became something different. Something special. He recognizes Bindi’s passion for improving the lives of California’s seniors, and knew he had the business acumen to co-create a successful company, bringing her goals to life.

A1 Elder Care features the combination of Bindi’s clinical background and Jay’s business experience—surrounded by handpicked caregivers. A family within family residential care, we invite your loved one to join us.

We are very grateful to the staff of A1 Elder Care for the wonderful care my grandmother has received. It was a difficult decision for my family to move her from her home of 55 years. But when she was no longer able to live alone, we turned to A1 Elder Care. With kind, competent and attentive bedside care, healthy meals, and a beautiful environment, my 90-year-old grandmother is thriving.
